Smoke Creek is Mike Murray on vocals, clawhammer and old-time two-finger banjo, and guitar, and Jim Murray , on vocals and guitar, joined by Peggy Sullivan on vocals and guitar, Ted Briggs-Comstock on Dobro and vocals. The band plays an unpredictable mix of award-winning original songs, ballads, country-western songs and old-time instrumentals. |
For almost ten years, Smoke Creek has been a regular performer at festivals such as Folklife, Richland's Tumbleweed Festival, Poulsbo's Art by the Bay, and other events and concerts around the Northwest and has been featured on Northwest radio. |
In 1997, they released their first CD, titled Smoke Creek, a collection of original and traditional songs and instrumentals. This album has received great reviews in publications such as "Sing Out", "Victory Review", "Disc Master", and "Heritage Music Review". |
